30,000 STARTERS: A RECORD EDITION FOR ADIDAS 10K PARIS

30,000 runners took part in the adidas 10K Paris on Sunday! After starting near the Arc de Triomphe, participants ran the distance through the heart of the capital, on a new and festive route. Hassan Chahdi and Margaux Sieracki won the 2024 edition encouraged by a large crowd on Sunday morning.

THE WINNERS

In the men's race, Hassan Chahdi won in 29'37 ahead of Florian Carvalho (29'43) and Yohan Durand (29'44). « I'm really happy with my race just a few weeks after the London Marathon. I really enjoy this course, starting from the Arc de Triomphe. At the start line, I was super excited, super happy and I could see I wasn't the only one. I won the race, but the most important thing was to enjoy myself. »

In the women's race, Margaux Sieracki won in 32'18. Mexico's Citlali Cristian (32'50) and Mauritanian Marie Perrier (33'18) completed the women's podium. « I'm satisfied with the time on this course. I was disappointed to miss the previous edition because of a stress fracture. It took me a year to get back to my level. It's an event I never miss. I'm proud to be here and to be making my comeback. It's a pleasure to win this race. »

A NEW COURSE IN THE HEART OF PARIS

On a breathtaking course route, this Sunday the runners had the most beautiful monuments of Paris all to themselves. They were able to enjoy these places steeped in history and feel the cultural dynamism of the host city of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. After setting off from the Arc de Triomphe, the participants ran along the Grands Boulevards, then crossed the Madeleine and Opéra districts. Once past the Église de la Madeleine and the Opéra Garnier they were able to admire the Louvre pyramid. They then walked along the Seine to the Palais de Tokyo before climbing (with its 8% gradient) back up to the esplanade du Trocadéro and crossing the finish line on the famous avenue Foch.

AN EXCEPTIONAL EXCITEMENT

The event, which sold out in less than a month and a half, lived up to all its promises. A total of 30,000 runners set off from the Arc de Triomph for this 7th edition of the race.

On Mother's Day, thanks to Thule, 200 parents took part in this unique sporting challenge with their little ones. Participants who wished to do so were offered a pushchair to use during the race.

45% of the starters were women, a percentage that continues to rise year after year on the adidas 10K Paris (38% in 2019), as is the proportion of ‘new runners’, who accounted for 32% of the field (28% in 2019).

NEW FEATURES AND A LIVELY COURSE

All along the route, the runners were encouraged by a host of events and demonstrations of new urban sports. Freestyle Foot, Double Dutch, BMX Flat and Roller Dance: there was plenty of opportunity to discover new practices and enjoy these high-level performances. They were also motivated by the happn Kilovemeter and its amusing messages, and by the Naruto manga, which invited them to run in ‘Parisian ninja’ mode. Driven by their favourite Hyundai music, they finally returned to the adidas Fan Zone for a final boost.

AN ‘URBAN SPORTS’ VILLAGE TO CELEBRATE THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS

Once the finish line had been crossed, the adidas 10K Paris village welcomed the participants, who were able to recuperate after their performance.

The heroes of the day celebrated their success in a convivial atmosphere: food trucks, music, outdoor games, not forgetting a concert given by Julien Granel in the village.

A RACE ACCLAIMED BY ITS PARTICIPANTS

‘I'm very happy to have run this race with my son. The course is magnificent, and it was a great experience for both of us. The icing on the cake was that I was able to take my pushchair with me, and what's more, it was perfect! Matilde, 32, mum of Timéo.

‘This is my very first race. My first time here. It was a great experience, a magnificent course and the atmosphere helped me to push myself. The finish with a view of the Arc de Triomphe was crazy!’ Maxime, young runner 19 years old
